Well, I know I don't talk about The Ruby Pearl
It's kind of a frustrating comic. I don't have the time now to give it the attention it needs; I'd rather update five pages every Friday than one, but I just can't draw that much right now. Unfortunately, a long-term epic doesn't do well one page per week. It's hard to create any sense of continuity or immidiacy or, well, anything, at that pace.
Then there's the art problem. That should improve this Friday. I've tried a few different things with the art, but the current art sucks. Sadly--it (generally) looks good on paper. There's this change, though, when the art goes into the computer. Different things look good on the computer than look good off the computer, and vice versa.
Well, at least we should be hitting a different art style, soon.
And, of course, there's ther problem of making things make sense. The glacial pace makes this even harder, as relevant plott points may occur a year apart. And even people who read the whole text at once probably won't *get* a lot of my points, just because the way I tell stories and the way other people understand them seems to be different.
Oh, well. At least the art will soon improve.

I just want to appologize for the complete and utter suckiness of The Ruby Pearl art, lately. I've been working on some shit and it's getting better, I promise. Just give it a few weeks... *gonk*

Just updated Ruby Pearl. (Of course, keen's down, so you can't see it anyway.) I'm now updated through, oh, mid November. Yeah. Took fucking forever to get that far, though. Thing is, once I finished chapter one, chapter two (which I'd actually drawn first) could go straight up.
That's one of those things what happens when you completely reorganize the comic, m'suppose. You get occasional time bubbles where you can just throw up whole heap o'crap at once, and bubbles where you've got nothing at all. Hopefully with this kind of lead, I'll be able to just finish up the comic once I'm out of classes and then put it to update every day. That'd be cool, huh?

TRP updated. I think this week's is a pretty good page, actually.

I am bad, bad people!
TRP updated. Like, two days ago. :(
*Distraction* Take in the loveliness of sex and nudity!
(Why is it that I can have an entire page of people running around naked, having sex, etc, and somehow it looks more cute than sexy?) http://rubypearl.comicgenesis.com

Oy, I am such a bad, bad person...
Not only has TRP updated, I really like this week's page. Even aside from all of the wonderful mythological things going on in it (we've got Adam and Eve, Lilith, a re-accounting for why Lilith and Adam split, the sword re-forged (oo, re-occuring theme...), an explanation for why humans and fairies are different, etc...) I just really like the art.
I mean, skin tone is hard. I have trouble making it look 'right' to me. But these folks look right. ^_^http://rubypearl.comicgenesis.com

Comic update. You know the drill. Only today's kind of special...
(And next week, the authoress tells me there'll be full color. Imagine that!)

We have website
Woot. We have a website. The website probably won't be visible for a couple of days, but the authoress has begun FTPing the comics and html and stuff. Hopefully it won't just turn out to be goop, and the html and such will all actually work. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
The address is apparently http://rubypearl.comicgenesis.com
Also, saw Serenity today. I totally need River on my side.

Hey! You! Yeah, you!
So this is our first post. Muwa. The comic should be up and running in about a week.
The authoress is debating between various forms of gimpy--whether she should re-start the comic at the begining in an attempt at making it more *sensible* to everyone else out there who's not her, or whether she should be lazy and just upload the pages the way they are now.
(The critical thing is that she'd have to change the names of a couple hundred files...) Current Mood: busy
